Working comfortably — split view, fullscreen, text size and keyboard shortcuts

workflowshortcutsmobileview

A converter is a place you paste something into and check the result. A few controls make that quicker, especially on a small screen.

Three views

  • Split shows your Markdown and the result side by side.
  • Editor shows only the input, for writing or pasting.
  • Preview shows only the result, for checking and copying.

The tool picks sensibly for your screen: side by side on a wide display, one pane at a time on a phone. You can change it whenever you like.

Resize the panes

Drag the divider between the panes to give one more room. Double-click it to put it back in the middle.

Fullscreen

Fullscreen gives the editor the whole screen with nothing around it. Every control still works there, including the format, the settings and the downloads. Press Esc to leave.

Text size and zoom

  • Use the smaller and larger buttons to change the text size. The setting is kept separately for desktop and phone, so shrinking it on one does not affect the other.
  • Hold Ctrl (or ⌘) and scroll, or pinch on a touch screen, to zoom the preview. Drag to move around once zoomed.
  • Reset view puts both back.

Keyboard shortcuts

The keys follow VS Code wherever it has an opinion, so they will feel familiar if you write in it. Press Ctrl / ⌘ + H to see the full list at any time.

On a phone

Everything above works on a phone except the keyboard shortcuts. Use the view toggle to move between editing and previewing, and the copy and download buttons to finish.
